The difference between a failure and a loss...

I bet that many people out there have already thought about this, but I decided to call it explicitly (pointing out the obvious).

People have told me throughout the last years to abandon hope. They keep telling me that banging on a door that no one will ever open from inside is futile and pointless and I should move on.

And then what?

Then I will move along, making small steps of evolution, taking my sweet time. Then I will seek out for people that want me for what I am. How wrong can this sentence be? "What I am". Do you really change yourself? No. You can change habits, professions, points of view, behaviors, but not ourselves. I'll tell you why : Because it's "me" that is taking the call for change, thus taking the necessary actions to reapply things for my benefit is still a part of me, thus it will still be me at the end. Confused? The caterpillar will still be the same for itself, even after it become a butterfly. Surely it will gain better looks and functionality (aka flying) but no one can say that the caterpillar dies and something else takes over through the stage of transformation...

Why the long parenthesis? For pointing out the obvious between a fail and lose. "Loss" is the result of wasting effort without gaining the result you wanted to. "Fail" is around the same thing, but one can say that you lose when you ultimately get in an unwanted result after trying your best and fail be a wasted effort in a smaller scale.

So, I can accept my consistent failure, but I do not accept my defeat. Not before I am 100% sure that I gave out my all. No...

Disturbed - Land of confusion

I must've dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
They're moving into the street

Now did you read the news today
They say the danger's gone away
But I can see the fire's still alight
There burning into the night

There's too many men
Too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Can't you see
This is a land of confusion

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in

Ooh Superman where are you now
When everything's gone wrong somehow
The men of steel, the men of power
Are losing control by the hour

This is the time
This is the place
So we look for the future
But there's not much love to go round
Tell me why, this is a land of confusion

This is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth living in

I remember long ago
Ooh when the sun was shining
Yes and the stars were bright
All through the night
In the wake of this madness
As I held you tight
So long ago

I won't be coming home tonight
My generation will put it right
We're not just making promises
That we know, we'll never keep

Too many men
There's too many people
Making too many problems
And not much love to go round
Can't you see
This is a land of confusion

Now this is the world we live in
And these are the hands we're given
Use them and let's start trying
To make it a place worth fighting for

This is the world we live in
And these are the names we're given
Stand up and let's start showing
Just where our lives are going to

Placebo - Meds

I was alone, falling free,
trying my best not to forget.
What happened to us, what happened to me,
what happened as I let it slip.

I was confused by the powers that be,
forgetting names and faces.
Passers by were looking at me
as if they could erase it.

Baby, did you forget to take your meds?

I was alone staring over the ledge,
trying my best not to forget.
All manner of joy, all manner of glee
and our one heroic pledge.

How it mattered to us, how it mattered to me
and the consequences.
I was confused by the birds and the bees
Forgetting if I meant it.

Baby, did you forget to take your meds?

Έπειτα, αφού διαχωρίσει τις καταστάσεις "What happened to us" με "what happened to me", κατηγορεί τον εαυτό του που το άφησε να ξεγλυστρίσει.
"I was confused by the birds and the bees, forgetting if I meant it" : Δεν χρειάζεται να εξηγήσω πότε χαίρεται κανείς σαν χαζοχαρούμενος τα πουλάκια και τις μελισσούλες, reference ερωτοχτυπημένου ξεκάθαρο. Αλλά η ουσία είναι μία :

"Baby, did you forget to take your meds?"

Cast - Dreamer

At least that's the name for the Omega Boost opening song.
If you don't know what Omega Boost is, let me remind you or teach you :

Omega Boost is a next generation shoot em up that was created by the same people responsible for Gran Turismo. It's storyline was simple : The hero has to chase down in time an A.I. entity that stole and plans to alter Eniac, the first computer so we are going pew pew everywhere. And I am an adrenaline sucker so, yeah, the game worths it.

Being released late in the PlayStation's life, Omega Boost is said to have some of the best graphics on the console with parts of the game running at 60 fps. The game was criticised by some reviewers for being too short (Nine levels with nine unlockable special missions) and simplistic. However, it is still considered one of the best Macross style mecha simulation games produced and is thought of by many as a sleeper hit due to its poor marketing.

The game has high production values with a few music tracks by the bands Loudmouth and Static-X. The game also features a live action introduction and mecha designs by Shoji Kawamori of Macross fame. The US, Japanese and European releases feature different theme music with the US version using "Fly" by Loudmouth, the Japanese version using "Shade" by Feeder and the European version using "Dreamer" by Cast, which I present you in the video and the lyrics.

I've been making my own time
But I've got to keep picking up ground
Took time but I realised
There is a force that is keeping me down

Dreamer with the Dream Dream's on
and the laughter and the song plays on.
Play on...Forever...

I've been making my own way
through faceless people in crowds.
I Don't hear what they say
but their thoughts are keeping me down.

Don't you want to be found?
Well you want to start picking up pieces.
The future calls but I've yet to meet it
till I leave what I left behind.

Dreamer with the Dream Dream's on
and the laughter and the song plays on.
Till the darkness of the night is gone...
Till the morning brings the light...
Shine on...Forever...

Bring me out in open fields,
set beside the sea.
They promised me a better life
safe in Galilee.
When you get that open space
earth beneath your feet
what you find is close at hand,
safe within your reach... In your reach...

I've been treading my own path,
obstacles I've left behind.
I was blind to the rhythm of this life
but I'm looking through clear eyes.
Don't you want to have clear sight?
Well you better start making your way!

Darkness of the night is gone
till the morning brings the light
shine on.

And the dreamer with the dream dreams on.
Let the laughter and the song play on.
Play on... Forever...
Feel the love.

Wamdue project - King of my castle

Welcome to my blog. The bad side is, it's under construction.
The good side is, I got you a brand new song! Oops, not really
but I still love it and I'd like to share it with you :

Must be the reason why I'm king of my castle.
Must be the reason why I'm free in my trapped soul.
Must be the reason why I'm king of my castle.
Must be a reason why I'm making examples of you.

First version.

2009 version.

My favorite remix.
